Re: memory leak/OOM kill

Well that's it for eOn on my 32 bit Windows computers- NNW. Not requesting any more work for this project. I have been running this project for ages as it is one of my favorites and hardly ever has a problem. However after wrestling for control of my computer for over an hour due to eOn tasks consum...

Re: memory leak/OOM kill

Just noticed that my Linux machine with 8 GB RAM got very sluggish. Checking System Monitor showed that an eOn task consumed up to 6.1 GB of Memory and 6.9 GB Virtual memory after just 11 minutes. It then dropped back to 24.4 MB of memory and 39.4 MB of Virtual memory and start to run normally. The ...

Re: memory leak/OOM kill

ALL current eOn work units are failing on my Windows 32 bit machine.

They reach 1 GB in 1 minute and 2 Gb in 3 minutes then fail. Chewing up 2 GB of RAMon a 32 bit computer leaves 1 Gb for every other process the computer runs, doesn't work.

Re: Humongous tasks, miniscule credits

Well I finished another 7.5 hour Windows work unit today the 21/6/13 (it's the 21st in Australia) and got very little reward for it. Since the last long work unit has been completed EVERY WORK UNIT NOW FAILS with the following ERROR <message> The system cannot find the path specified. (0x3) - exit c...

Re: why I'm dumping eon

If you click on the "Application" link on the front page you would see that this is a CPU only project and so will never utilise your GPU. If you want to use your GPU then join another project that uses them, there are quite a few out there now. You can still use your CPU's on this one or ...

Re: EON Errors

I have been getting a problem that every few days my BOINC Client gets disconnected from the manager and shuts down. I have to close the manager and restart Boinc Manager and Client to get things going again. This is happening on both my Linux computers. It seems to be related to the eOn Project, a...

Re: New Longer Work Units

Along with the normal short work units I have been getting a number of much longer work units. The longer work units all seem to be of a series with either 11, 12 , 13 or 14 in their names. My normal run times are from 300 to 450 seconds for my Linux 64 bit machine and from 600 to 700 seconds for m...

EON Errors

Getting a consistant error code on all work units processed by my Windows XP 32 bit machine error: bundle: cannot rename client.log to client_0.log: Permission denied This does not stop the work unit and does not cause it to fail but I was wondering why it is popping up on every work unit that I pro...

Re: Low points

It seems that we are back to this problem with the new BETA v4.00 application. Awarded credit is jumping all over the place and now down to a new low of 1.25 cr/h, over 2,800 seconds for less than 1 credit. Linux Result Linux Result Windows Result Windows Result Windows Result This is on a 64 bit L...

Re: Low points

I was receiving fairly good points per hour over the last few months so this was a set and forget type of project. Or so I thought. Did a check a week or so ago and found that one of my computers (only one out of four), had started to give really low credit even though it was my fastest computer (5 ...
