- As I mentioned at the Crown, this is the town in Pennsylvania that a garbage dump fire in 1962 lit a coal vein below the town. Centralia is basically a ghost town now where the ground vents CO and sulfurous gases and roads buckle and collapse. While I'm at it, there is the Pennsylvania turnpike and the Abandoned Pennsylvania turnpike that is insanely creepy. - Zach
