anonymous access to cvs

Postby graeme » Sun May 15, 2005 5:51 am

The cvs repositories can now also be accessed anonymously by setting:

CVSROOT = :pserver:anonymous@theory.cm.utexas.edu:/Groups/cvs

or by logging in with the command

cvs -d :pserver:anonymous@theory.cm.utexas.edu:/Groups/cvs login

If this is working correctly the anonymous user must log in with the passwd anonymous, and they will have read-only access.

Graeme,

Stupid question. Under Firefox how do I get access to cvs? When I use those lines I always get "Page not found".

Thanks in advance,

Carlos Eduardo

These commands are appropriate for linux/unix/osx systems, or cygwin under windows. You can also use a cvs interface program under windows -- I don't use them, but I know they are out there. Googling cvs windows brings up several options.

It's at our end. I disabled the anonymous pserver some time ago. Most of the code are available by download, but if anonymous access to cvs would be helpful, I'll enable it again.
